At the airport you will be greeted by our Jetwing Representative and your chauffeur guide who will take you to Negombo. Rest and recoup from jet lag, you have days of excitement ahead. When convenient, your chauffeur guide will familiarise you with what to expect while cycling on a Sri Lankan road. We encourage you to ride about the town and see some interesting sights and landmarks. Afterwards, chill out on the golden sands of Negombo beach and prepare for days of riding to come.
Start your expedition by cycling 35 km along a picturesque route passing paddy fields and coconut plantations to Kurunegala. The towering statue of Lord Buddha on ‘Atha gala’ – the town’s famous landmark rockface, is visible from afar. Ride around and explore Kurunegala town. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch at a delightful local restaurant. Then, pack your bikes away for the day, and continue by car to Dambulla in the heart of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. In Dambulla, visit the renowned Golden Temple Cave complex.

Take a morning cycle tour to the ruins of ancient Ceylon at the UNESCO World Heritage City of Polonnaruwa – the medieval capital of ancient Lanka from the 11th to 13th century A.D. Take in the historic sites of Lankathilaka, Thuparamaya, Royal Palace, Rankoth Vehera and Gal Viharaya. On your return, take an exhilarating jeep ride with an expert naturalist guide to the Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park – a sanctuary is a home to wild elephants, wild buffaloes, sambar deer, crocodiles, sloth bear and more.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and get ready for a challenging ride ahead. Start by cycling to the World Heritage Site of Sigiriya. Over the 55km of moderate standard, you pass through lush jungle, traditional chena farms and rural villages. Climb Sigiriya rock and travel by car stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue on to Kandy. Explore the town at your leisure. Pay homage to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses Sri Lanka’s most sacred relic – a tooth of the Lord Buddha.
After a leisurely breakfast, set off to explore the historic town of Kandy. It is a busy, bustling hub of activity where heritage buildings and modernity mix. Visit the Udawattekele forest reserve – a haven of peace in the heart of town, or the vibrant market places. Walk or ride around the Kandy lake and ride up Lake Drive for some spectacular views of the town. For something a bit more challenging, ride to the hills of Hantana taking an uphill cycle route through the forest.
